As the stone fruit season comes to a close in Europe, the citrus season begins to take shape. Lemons are coming up from Spain and Italy and more interesting edibles are arriving from South Africa. Tarocco orange has a lovely red blush inside the fruit and the Orri clementine is one of the best eating varieties.

Chicory

In theory the warm summer months will come to an end and products like chicory will become a staple of the fresh market. The early one is the specially selected, small chicory from Cybèle. It is stunning to look at, packed beautifully by hand and could suit retailers wanting to offer a smaller product for customers to try catering to chefs that want to try a smaller dish.
