Monks Beard, Barba di frati or Agretti call it what you will is plentiful. We love them tossed in a pan with some butter and a helpful dash of chilli flakes, amazing!
Our Italian Fennel is also beautiful at the moment. Chris is buying some lovely large stuff from Italy and the price is pretty good. Italian artichokes are also very good we have some lovely Mammole artichokes landing on Sunday night. These are usually a later variety with lovely dense heads and meaty leaves.
Spiky is still very good also, the guy’s here love picking those…. All of your Radicchios’are amazing at the minute the striking pink one being my favourite looks so good on a plate. Tardivo and Castelfranco equally as good now.
