Mirabelle

Said to be the queen of plums, the mirabelle is exquisitely sweet and juicy. At the time of writing, we had seen the first two arrivals and they were slightly green but clearly getting more colour. We anticipate next week seeing fruit with yellow skins, hopefully with some blush, and the great, sweet taste from nature’s little ‘bonbons’.

D’Ente Plum

Greenish flesh, juicy, very sweet with a hint of cinnamon, this is the plum used to make the famous Agen Prune. Fresh, they have a good taste that has a hint of the prune flavour they will become. They are much like a British Victoria but meatier somehow. They hardly appeared on the market a few years ago but now they should be around for up to 6 weeks.
