Loukakos Estate Olive Oil 🫒

Loukakos Estate is a Greek family run business with a history of olive cultivation spanning over 5 generations. Founded in the heart of the Peloponnese, Loukakos Estate carries a legacy rooted in family, tradition, and respect for the land. What began as a small family olive grove generations ago has grown into a modern estate dedicated to crafting high-quality olive oil reflecting the region’s rich heritage.

PERFECT CLIMATE FOR OLIVE CULTIVATION

Nestled near the ancient town of Gytheio, Loukakos Estate benefits from the ideal conditions of the Southern Peloponnese. The combination of sun, sea breeze, and rich, hilly terrain near the Laconian Gulf creates the perfect environment for cultivating their superior olives.

This unique location enhances the flavour and quality of their extra-virgin olive oil.

Hand-picked from their groves in the Southern Peloponnese, their olive oil is crafted from 100% Koroneiki olives, with no additives or blends. They press the olives within hours of harvesting to ensure maximum freshness, bringing the essence of their groves straight to your table.

PGI STATUS

Their commitment to excellence is further underscored by their PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) status. This prestigious certification guarantees that their extra virgin olive oil is authentically Greek and produced under stringent quality standards specific to their unique region.

The PGI status not only protects their heritage but also ensures that every bottle of their olive oil embodies the rich flavours and superior quality that are characteristic of their land.

CRAFTING PERFECTION

Producing their premium extra virgin olive oil is a meticulous year-long endeavour.

Each step, from harvesting to pressing, is optimised using both traditional and modern techniques.

They leave nothing to chance, ensuring their olive oil meets the highest standards of excellence year after year.

This dedication results in an exceptional product that stands out in both flavour and quality.

1.CULTIVATION

Their groves are located on steep slopes with wide elevations. This is an optimal layout as it eliminates the common problem of trees blocking each others sunlight.

2. HARVEST

Working in harmony with nature, they will only begin harvesting when the trees tell them. Harvesting takes place once a year, between October and November and the olives are hand-picked at the initial stages of ripening. This is when they begin to change colour.

3. MILLING

A good harvest can be greatly compromised by poor milling standards and techniques.

As there are many stages to the olive oil extraction process, they place attention to every single detail and the result of years of experience and research has helped optimise every detail. Within a few hours of being picked, the olives are processed.

4. STORAGE & BOTTLING

The oil is carefully stored in stainless steel INOX tanks and is topped up with nitrogen to prevent oxidation. Bottled to order, ensures that all of the rich aromas and high phenolic values are retained.

It is stored and bottled on the estate in a facility which is ISO 22000 certified.
